What’s Happening Around the World

At the end of the Second World War, the United States Conference of Bishops began Catholic Relief Services. Originally, it was our means of helping to rebuild Europe after the war. Today, members of Catholic Relief Services are on the ground in all the major “hotspots” of development around the world, including El Salvador, Mexico, Brazil, India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Camaroon, Uganda, Ghana, and many other places. They have been praised for their efforts to, not only offer emergency relief to these regions, but to help to create the proper infrastructure for a lasting change. They teach people how to fish, not just giving them a fish.

Our parish has been working with Catholic Relief Services for many years. We continue to have our annual Lenten Rice Bowl collection. For more information, see the following link.
